Ogden Christmas Village

The day after Thanksgiving on 25th and Washington in Ogden Utah a Christmas village comes to life. It has a bunch of little Christmas Story houses, such as The Gringe, Hanzel and Grettle, The Elf workshop and even Santa's Castle. It's a fun little place to take the kids to see Christmas lights. Buddle up good tho, it can get pretty chilly!

They even have a mailbox for Santa Letters
And at 6pm Santa arrives at his castle to visit with the kids. They let you take your own picture or they'll take it for you for 5$. Although  just to warn ya not all kids think this is a fun idea:)

If you think your kids will do better with the sweet Mrs. Clause then you can go on a tour of Christmas village during the day. You have to go with a big sized group for this one at least 10 kids.
You can call 801-629-8000 to set up an appointment with Mrs. Clause
If you want to feed the kids while your there. There is a free trolley that picks you up at Christmas village  takes you around down town Ogden and will drop you off at the Junction where theres plenty of restaurants. It closes at 8pm on weeknights 9pm on weekends.

We rode the trolley and ate pizza at the Fat Cats bowling alley that sits over on 23rd street. They have the best bread sticks! Theres also a restaurant on the corner of Christmas village that does smores for the kids on weekend nights. We didn't make it there so I'm not sure of details on this one.

Ogden city offers a lot of fun stuff for kids to do. Christmas village is definitely worth checking out!

Train at New Gate

All Aboard The Choo Choo Train!

Theres a cute little Christmas train at Newgate mall right now that only costs 3$ to ride. The kids loved it! I tried talking the older ones into thinking it was the Train to Hogwarts but they didn't buy it. They're getting to old for my make believe. :(
Newgate Mall | 36th St. & Wall Ave. | Ogden, Utah 84405 |
I will definitely go back and ride it again, but hopefully hit up the arcade, The Pink Cupcake bakery and SANTA next time.

They have a little play area for the kids and a big arcade.
Great idea for winter time play dates since it's to cold for the park.

Thanks for coming mommies who made it!
Sorry I had to bail so early. :(

Wheeler Farm

Today we went to Wheeler Farm in Salt Lake.  The weather was perfect and everything was FREE!  We ate a picnic lunch and then went and saw a ton of farm animals.  We saw:
GEESE

and more GEESE!

And COWS!

And GOATS!

And CHICKENS...and hens...and turkeys...and roosters...etc.

And we played in the hay.

(and shared some binkies)

And looked at some barns.

And took lots of pictures.

And played with all the kids.

And even gave some first kisses.

June was trying to steal Fred's binkie the whole time.  Here's some photos to prove it.
(Click to see all of them, my favorite is the last one.  BTW not all of the shots are of just those two - most are group shots.)

Ogden Nature Center

Since blogger is lame this video of Fred speaking Turkey will have to be posted separately.

Nature Center (take II)

We visited the Ogden Nature center again. Since I've already posted the information about this place I decided to just post pictures of the kids for this post. But, if your curious about the Nature Center you can read my original blog post about it   HERE.

We originally went to meet Pueo the Owl but it was way to hot in the room .
So we ventured out on the trails. Where we were eaten alive by Misquotes. BRING REPELLENT IF YOU GO!

We let the kids wreck the Gift shop. Ooops! :)

The Mommies!
Except Crystal. :( How did I miss you!

Devin was so nice and shared his yummy Gold fish with all the kids.

Today I learned Freddie speaks Turkish. :)
